Bound in red and cream marbled cloth with a blue field on the spine stamped in gilt. The front free endpaper has had the better part of the top fore-edge corner cut out otherwise unmarked. Text block is clean and bright. The binding is tight with no creases to the spine. xvi + 269 pp. Slipcase measures 9 x 11 3/4 inches.

Synopsis

Rights of Man (1791), by Thomas Paine, posits that popular political revolution is permissible when a government does not safeguard its people, their natural rights, and their national interests. It defends the French Revolution against Edmund Burke's attack in Reflections on the Revolution in France (1790).
