About This Item

U.S.A.: George G.Harrap & Co Ltd, 1973. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. Book shows light wear with bumped cover corners, but everything else is in Near Fine condition: the covers, the text block, the pages are all clean and flawless. Dust jacket shows light wear also, no tears. 208 pages, an interesting and enlightening history of the microscope from the early days of hand-ground lenses to the achivements of the electron microscope. Lots of illustrations and many photos of ""favorite"" microscopic sights, such as the proboscis of a house fly (dreadful in its alien tip), and an x-ray of a fruitfly eye, which looks like a very complex silicon chip with curved edge.
