Roxburry, Mass.: Privately Printed For W. Elliot Woodward, 1864. Hand Numbered, copy 42 of an "Edition Two Hundred And Fifteen Copies...". All Original, Contemporary Binding. Half Leather, Beveled Marbled Boards show rubbing, spines show wear (see image), a little dry, but still rounded, with both fore edges remaining perfectly concave. Both volumes square, sewn bindings very tight. Top Edges Gilt (t.e.g.), others uncut. Hand marbled ends, edges show light extremity wear. Internally Unmarked. Provenance : Engraved bookplate of "Erastus Corning", to pastedowns of both Vol. I. & Vol. II., confirmed by "Subscribers List.", end of Vol. II. : copies 41 & 42 "Corning, Erastus / Corning, Erastus Jr., Albany, NY". Binding wear and age noted, still a Very Good Set of the Hardest to Find Witchcraft Title (with the lowest print run), in Woodward's Historical Series. [Cornell BF1575.R31; Coumont W37b.1.]. First Edition. Hard Cover/Half-Leather/T.E.G.. Very Good. Illus. by Rubricated Title, Headpieces, Grotesques, with Colored Drop Cap (Vol. I.). Small 4to - 8¾" tall. Oversized Safely, Securely Packed.
