Mixed state with 2nd state publisher's binding of green cloth with light green lettering and multi color decoration; publisher's name in 1/8" letters to spine. P 325 line 9: "don't turn in at the side"; p 327 line 13: "bricks, glowing in the October sun". Printed date 1903 to title page and October 1903 to copyright page. Minor edgewear and soil; lightly bumped spine ends; fraying just barely starting at corners which are still sharp; pink flowers to spine are lightly sunned. Small soil spot to text block upper edge. Binding a little shaken but NOT cracked; hinges are sound. Interior lightly toned, with scattered minor soil from handling. Not illustrated. Previous owner name and small green pencil mark to ffep. No stickers or stamps. Not ex-library.
Synopsis
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm is a classic American 1903 children's novel by Kate Douglas Wiggin. Rebecca Rowena Randall goes to live with her two stern aunts in the village of Riverboro in Maine. Her joy for life ends up inspiring them. She faces many trials in her young life, but comes through them with more wisdom and understanding. Wiggin wrote a sequel, New Chronicles of Rebecca.
