In a fine dust jacket with the price intact on the front flap. The author examines the unlawful "departure" of underground artist's works during the 60's and 70's in Russia. 181 pages of text and illustrated with a number of color plates. A very clean, bright and tight copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind.
Synopsis
The Ransom of Russian Art by John McPhee investigates the plight of "unofficial" Soviet artists and the University of Maryland professor, Norton Dodge, who smuggled their work our of the USSR for nearly 30 years. This book contains 40 color plates.
