A portfolio of historic black & white photos of railroading in the Pacific Northwest, almost all during the era of steam power. Includes information on railroads, power units, rail cars and infrastructure of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, British Columbia and a little bit of Northern California. Many of these lines were organized by logging interests. The author, George B. Abdill, spent much of his life working as a fireman and engineer for railroads. --- In black paper-covered boards backed in yellow cloth, with spine titling in black. Dust jacket features a steam locomotive and tender in a logging yard. --- A clean, bright, tightly-bound copy. Dust jacket also in excellent condition; wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; 192 pages .
