Rab is a story of a huge mastiff living in Edinburgh in the 1830s. Rab is a loving, friendly, and loyal dog, and tells the story of his friendship with the narrator over a series of years. Dr John Brown was a Scottish physician and writer. Incredibly popular in 19th Century Scotland, 'Rab & His Friends' is widely regarded as Brown's best work of fiction. Originally from the library of Lord Lister, P.R.S. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. In paper covered boards. Externally sound. Boards are a trifle rubbed. Marks to boards. Backstrip detached and missing. Hinges tender. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Good Only
