A London doctor in search of his Naturalist brother meets a beautiful white queen ruling islanders, a thousand miles north of the Society Islands, elsewhere identified as an island on the edge of the Marquesas (p. 97); she is presumably of French descent as she says ‘zis’ and ‘zat’. This edition seems to be unrecorded. A strip of discoloration from damp along the lower external hinge. Foxing to early leaves, heaviest to title-page, otherwise a very good copy.
