Weldon & Co. London. [1880-1881]. Weldon & Co. No date stated in vols. I and III, vol. II dated 1880. 1880-1881. In Three volumes. Early editions, vol. II is a first edition. Vol. I has been incorrectly bound in boards for vol. II but the contents are correct for vol. I. Original brown cloth decorated in gilt and black. Illustrated with engravings. Pagination: xii, [i], 507, [2] adverts; [iv], 533, 6 pages index; [ii], 528, 6 pages index. Vol. I - inner hinges re-enforced, hinges visible but sound, pages browned. Vol. II - cloth very worn and frayed particularly to extremities of spine. Front hinge reapired, hinges visible but holding, endpapers marked. pages browned and occasionally foxed. Vol. III - Head and tail of spine frayed, inner hinges cracked, contents slightly shaken, top corner torn fron title page so that "TICA" from Pugilistica is absent. Frontis. loose, pages browned and foxed. The set is poor but complete.
