Description:
Topeka, Kansas: Kansas State Printing Plant, 1920. Hardcover. Very Good Plus/None. Black covers, gold lettering on spine, slight dent in middle of spine, apparently bumped against something at some point. Gold lettering on spine sharp and clear. 235 pages. Front hinge exposed after title page. This is the testimony of an eyewitness to the great struggle for freedom in the territorial days of Kansas. Colonel Eldridge was the eyewitness and an actor in most of the events described. Written by Eldridge shortly before his death the manuscript was lost for around two decades. When it came to light in 1920 the value was recognized and it was published. An interesting and valuable slice of Kansas history. Volume has scarcely been touched in the years since printing. Some yellowing of pages but in remarkable conditon for its age. A very nice copy.
