cat40a. London: Rebman, 1909. First edition. Purple cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Frontispiece portrait of the author. 630pp. plus one leaf of ads at the rear. Title page printed in red & black. Some rubbing of cloth, the spine a bit faded, a very good copy. A long novel concerning the British in India, and involving reincarnation. The poet Francis Thompson appears in the novel as a character. WorldCat describes a copy having an erratum slip between pages 406/407 (not present here); there is also a 1910 printing by Rebman.
