Description:
Washington, D.C., 1924. unbound. 1 page, 9 x 7 inches, Washington, D.C., March 28, 1924. In this letter, Coolidge thanks the recipient for his note, in full: "Please accept my thanks for your note of the 26th which tells me of the project to create a memorial to the men of the Merchant Marine who made the great sacrifice during the world war, in the form of a Seaman's Christian Association Building. It is a worthy and deserving effort to serve at once as a memorial to the service of our seamen, and as a means of promoting the highest interests of the Merchant Marine." Together with two 10 x 8-inch vintage sepia photos of the Seaman's Christian Association building (one exterior, one interior). The letter is slightly soiled at the margins and has three horizontal folds. One of the photos has two closed tears at the top. Very good(-) condition.<br/> <br/>
