About This Item
New York: Doubleday, Doran and Company. 1938. First American edition, first printing. First American edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles over black to the spine, in the Gladys Calthrop illustrated dustwrapper. Top edge red. Illustrated with photographs in black and white. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and tight, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with the ownership name of screen-writer David Lloyd to the top of the front endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is faded, as often, to the spine but otherwise very clean and bright. Not price-clipped ($3.00 to the upper front flap). Signed by Noel Coward in black ink on the half title. An attractive example of the English playwright, composer, director, actor, and singer's first autobiography. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
