Garden City, Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1947. . First U.S. edition, inscribed by the author; 8vo; photographic illustrations, publisher's red cloth, titles to spine gilt on a black ground, illustrated, near-fine; handwritten letter by the same loosely inserted.
The author's signed presentation inscription to the front free endpaper, 'For Maurice [Chevalier] With profound admiration and affection Noel. London 1918 Paris 1920 New York 1948 (.... 1939!)'. Loosely inserted is a 1-page autograph letter from Coward to Chevalier gushingly thanking his correspondent for writing to him.
