About This Item
Simon & Schuster, New York, 1942. Stated 9th Printing. Hardcover (Printed Boards). Very Good Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: Dixon, Rachel Taft. Book VG HB in VG DJ, protected by archival polyester cover. Santi lists at $50-$100. Size: Octavo (8vo; up to 9 3/4" / 20-25 cm tall). Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Pages 21-34 are printed on a slightly different stock and show some tanning; the other pages are white. Blue textured paper spine shows a small (3/4") closed tear. Unclipped Dust jacket, which has the printed "Golden spine", has three defects: (1) 1/2" sticker scar at the upper right, affecting a little of the decoration around the front panel, (2) a 1/4" closed tear at the bottom edge of the front panel and (3) a 1" closed tear at the bottom edge of the back panel (the two tears have been repaired on the reverse with archival non-acidic tape). List on back goes to #34. The "This book belongs to" bookplate printed on the inside front cover is blank. Page edges are stained purple. The only defect to the book itself is that there is a slight horizontal crease across the middle of the boards. Illustrator: Dixon, Rachel Taft. Quantity Available: 1.
