The very scarce second edition. In full cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine. With numerous vignette wood-cut illustrations throughout. An interesting scientific work regarding the ventilation of buildings by hot water. Detailing the various methods of distributing artificial heat, and their effects on animal and vegetable physiology. Including an overview of the laws of radiant and conducted heat and the chemical constitution of coal. Complete with the half title page and four pages of the publisher's advertisements to the front of the book. In full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light shelf wear to the extremities. Marks to the boards. Staining to the upper rear board. Bumping to the spine. Chipping to the upper spine. Internally, binding slightly strained but still firmly bound. Pages age-toned but otherwise bright and clear. The odd small mark throughout. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
