Philadelphia: Printed by James Kay, Jun. & Brother, 1837. Very Good +. [1], 298-317, [1] p.: tables; 29 cm. Disbound from a larger volume. Read before the Society on March 6, 1835. John Gummere (1784-1845) taught at Westtown Friends School and ran his own school for boys in Burlington, N.J., before receiving his M.A. from Princeton in 1825; in 1833 he was one of the founders of the Friends' School at Haverford, which became Haverford College, where he taught mathematics. His popular work on surveying has been reprinted many times. In Very Good+ Condition: disbound from a larger volume; light foxing, primarily in margins; otherwise, clean and bright.
