This vintage item is ACCEPTABLE condition with some normal minor shelf wear expected for a vintage book. Some pages inside have some pencil writing from note-taking; there is no dog-earing or bent pages. There is no dust jacket. The hardback cover boards are covered in a wave print blue and white canvas and are in ACCEPTABLE condition with no scratches or tears; there is some staining on the front and back. There is minimal fraying along the top, side, and bottom back edges, and on the foot and crown of the spine from shelf rubbing. There is one major fray on the top/crown of the spine.All corners are bumped. Spine is intact with a library binding-no loose pages; but the library binding is loose right on the title page, but it is not detached from the book. (Please see pictures as they are part of the description). Overall in ACCEPTABLE condition. This is a 1954 third printing of this history classic by Yale professor Hajo Holborn.It covers the collapse of Europe through and between the two world wars. A classic.
