Nelson,, 1871. 8vo., First Edition thus, with engraved and printed titles (original tissue guard present) and numerous engraved illustrations (a number full-page) in the text, some mild offsetting to endpapers; original pictorial terracotta cloth, upper board with elaborate multiple frame border in black enclosing title and oval cartouche with mounted coloured illustration, back gilt extra, lower board framed in blind, gilt edges, bevelled boards, a remarkably bright, clean copy in wholly unrestored period binding. With a coloured bookplate on front paste-down. A fine example of a mid-Victorian decorative cloth binding. A very scarce compilation.
