London: William Pickering, 1839. This issue of "The Aldine Edition of the British Poets" was intended as a less-expensive edition that included any new material or additions available. Three volumes of the First Edition Thus, in Very Good condition. Not common. Blue cloth binding with paper labels on the spine. Bumped; spines faded to a green colour; top edges dusty; paper labels are darkened and rubbed, but perfectly readable. The texts are clean and bright, with no foxing. Volume One has a Preface noting the various editions, a "Memoir of Burns" by Sir Harry Nicolas, the Preface to the First Edition (1786) and the Dedication to the Second Edition (1787); lxxvii, 264 pages. Volume Two has 336 pages; Volume Three has 317 pages. With relatively minor issues, this is altogether a respectable set with character.. First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
