About This Item
Edinburgh: Printed by John Paterson, 1796. A New Edition. Hardcover. Good +. Half leather over paper covered boards, some discolouration, edges rubbed and corners bumped. Gilt titles on spine label. Speckled green page edges. Xxii + 175pp. With a brief biography of Bruce and discussion of his work which originally appeared in the periodical The Mirror. This edition includes several additional poems taken from the manuscripts of the Author, furnished by his mother. Incidentally the profits that arose from this edition were to be applied 'solely to the support of the Poet's Mother, now advanced to her 87th year and living in indigence.' Generally very good and clean inside.
