A first collected edition of poetry from satirist Charles Churchill, bound with three further individually published poems from Churchill to the rear. The 1763 first edition of 'Poems', a collection of works from noted eighteenth century satirist and poet, Charles Churchill, which marked the first time these five poems - 'The Rosciad', 'The Apology', 'Night', 'The Prophecy of Famine', 'An Epistle to William Hogarth' and 'The Ghost' - were published in a single volume.Retaining the original half title and title page.Bound in to the rear are three further individually published poems from Churchill, each retaining the original half title and title page. These poems later appeared together as a second volume of 'Poems', in 1765.Present here are the 1763 first edition of 'The Author', the 1763 first edition of 'The Conference', and the 1764 first edition of 'The Duellist'.ESTC for 'Poems' T98756.
