Boston: John W. Luce & Company, 1917. A collection of four plays by the Anglo-Irish fantasy author Edward Plunkett (1878-1957), 18th Baron Dunsany. Part of the Irish Literary Revival, this prolific writer is an influence on such later great writers as Lovecraft, Kornbluth, Howard, and Tolkein. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First American Edition. Tan paper-covered boards with a black cloth spine; titling and decorations in gilt. Within are "The Tents of the Arabs," "The Laughter of the Gods," "The Queen's Enemies," and "A Night at an Inn." Clean text; 207 pages. Charming bookplate on the front paste-down and a contemporary (1917) gift inscription on the FFEP. Very slight external wear, but the front gutter has cracked. No dustjacket; in an archival plastic protector.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
