About This Item

Paris: Chez Jean, 1808. First edition. Engraved broadside map on thick paper, 21 3/4 x 32 inches, the districts' borders hand-colored and streets, buildings, parks, gardens, churches, hospitals, schools, etc., identified; with inset street indexes. A popular Napoleonic-era street plan of Paris, published a number of times, 1797-1815; OCLC locates three copies of this printing (Biblioteca Nacional de Espana, Biblithèque Nationale de France, Pennsylvania). Very good. Folded into brown boards (rebacked), printed paper label on upper board. (#5915).
