About This Item
Australia: Reed, 1964. A first edition, first printing published by Reed in 1964. A near fine book with previous owner's name and date written neatly to the rear of the front free end paper. Some slight bumping to the head of the spine. Clean internally with photographic and illustrated end papers. In a like unclipped wrapper. Peter Mulgrew was a New Zealand mountaineer who was great friends with Edmund Hillary with whom he embarked upon many expeditions. Mulgrew replaced Hillary on Flight 901 at Mount Erebus on a sightseeing flight to Antarctica as travel commentator. The plane crashed killing 257 people. Hillary married Mulgrew's widow in 1989.
