London: Adam & Charles Black. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1914. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. In the original publisher's pictorial paper covered stiff card boards. A little rubbed but overall Very Good. The front cover (and frontispiece) is a photograph of H. M. The King and The Duke of Connaught watching the Army Manoeuvres - Very Portentous but not yet ominous as this is the first year of the outbreak of the 1st World War. A Former Owner's name and location on the front advert e/p and on the reverse of the frontispiece, o/w Internally EXCELLENT with No Other inscriptions or marks. 96 pp. Illustrated with 12 b/w plates AS LISTED (but some with multi images shown, making 18 pictures, so maybe they are counting the one on the cover to make it "19 illustrations from Photographs" as noted on the title page, or someone miscounted? ) portraying many 'newsworthy' items including 'Police making a baton charge in O'Connell Street, Dublin.' ; 'The Colonial and English Premiers'; 'Yacht Racing'; 'Tennis', etc. Advertisements in b/w in the front and rear of book for photography related items such as 'Bromide papers for Press work', Goerz-Anschutz Press Camera, Watson's 'Perspect' Reflex Camera, etc. Clear Red titling to front cover and to spine, and similar lettering to the 'Ilford' advert on the rear board. A look at how to take and place with the relevant newspaper/magazine photos for the papers! ! This is a Wonderful PERIOD Item. Overall in Excellent Condition and is quite a rare title.
