Dark blue cover with bumped corners; shelfwear markings; what appears to be a cup ring on back cover. Binding appears tight; pages primarily clean with a couple of minor dirty spots; a few pages have minor tears/rips but all pages seem to be intact. Endpapers white with blue animals following an elf. Book plate with PO's name on ffep. Not an ex-library book. Date and price printed in pencil on top right corner of half-title page. Black/white and color illustrations. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall

Five margins with closed tears and without loss & 5 corners with creases but no tape repairs or scribbling. There is some fingering, mostly to beginning and end. The American editions seem to have fewer pages.
