An early printing of this Frank Reynolds illustrated edition of Charles Dickens's autobiographical and bildungsroman novel. The popular story of David Copperfield, following the Victorian life of the eponymous hero from infancy to maturity, with events following Dickens's own life. It was originally serialised in 1849-50 and published as a book in 1850. An early printing of the edition illustrated by Frank Reynolds, notable Punch illustrator; his work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1928 Summer Olympics. This edition published by the Westmister Press by arrangement with Hodder & Stoughton. Dated from Jisc, c1911. Illustrated with a frontispiece and nineteen full page coloured plates tipped in. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally bright with minor shelf wear, light bumping to head and tail of spine, minor puncture marks to back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
