VG/none, used pb, 42pp. Illustrated stiff paper wraps with cream colored text on upper; slight edge wear; tail tip of upper double creased; no tears. Interior pages clean, unmarked. This is a reprint of an 1869 essay by the author which was published in the "Atlantic Monthly" in October 1869. The illustrations are from H. L. Fisher's "Olden Times" or "Pennsylvania Rural Life" - 1888. Binding is tight..
