Field wrote these poems for his childhood Missouri friend, William Buskett. Original brown paper book boards, with 3/4 white parchment/vellum (spine vellum is chipped). Book boards with gilt title to front cover. Spine vellum has pulled away a bit - but is complete. Corners are gently worn. Interior excellent. Beautiful deckled fore-edge. A slim, very special volume of poetry. Clean and tight, no markings. Great Copy. Lacks slipcase. Protected in an archival slip.

The book's covers are bumped & rubbed with some damage to the middle of the spine. The slipcase is rubbed & soiled with a piece out from the top edge of the slipcase and a chip at the head ot its spine. 15 deckle-edged pages. Good. <p>Printed for the Bibliophile Society, Boston. Originally published in "Hoosier Lyrics," 1905; this is the first separate publication [BAL 5880].
