Second title in the Soviet Indology Series. Contains 5 papers: A Buddhist philosopher on monotheism; history of Indian materialism; theory of poetry in India; scientific achievements of ancient India; establishment of the existence of other minds. Stcherbatsky died in 1942 and his epitaph in English reads: "He explained to his country the wisdom of the ancient Indian thinkers." Covers with light soil and edge wear. A clean dust jacket shows paper loss and tape mends at head and tail of spine panel. Good in a fair dust jacket.
