Jacket art by Hannes Bok. Only 1054 copies printed. Joshi, Sixty Years of Arkham House, #3. Fine in fine dust jacket with the merest hint of toning to the lettering on the spine panel. A superior copy. Laid in is an envelope addressed in Smith's hand to R.H. Barlow with Smith's retrurn address, post marked Auburn, Calif, Aug 7, 1933. Smith and Barlow were early participants of the Lovecraftian circle. 3 cent postage stamp present. Rough opening along the right side, else in very good condition with writing very clear.
Synopsis
Out of Space and Time is a collection of fantasy, horror and science fiction short stories by author Clark Ashton Smith. It was released in 1942 and was the third book published by Arkham House. 1,054 copies were printed. The stories for this volume were selected by the author and were considered by him to be his best fantasy and horror stories to date. The collection contains stories from Smith's major story cycles of Averoigne, Hyperborea, Poseidonis, and Zothique.
