Light rubbing at extremities; minor splitting to cloth near top of front hinge. There are a few penciled additions to the text, otherwise the interior is clean and unmarked. 263 pages. Detailed genealogies, including charts, narratives, reproductions of photographs, newspaper clippings, documents, etc., of the: a) Whitney family, with the modern branch descending from John Whitney (1589-1673) and his wife Elinor of Watertown, Massachusetts Colony, of whom many resided in Maine). b) Lignitz family: Wilhelm Von Lignitz (d. 1879) of Torgelow, Germany, and his wife Christliebe Moschall, their children including Wilhelm/William, and descendants in the region of Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. c) Groathouse/Grothouse family: John Groathouse (1815-1892) of Germany and Nebraska, his wife Ellen/Ella Almith, and their descendants in Nebraska and Haddam, Kansas. This volume, researched and written by Vivian Gail Morrow Wade (1937-1998), traces her ancestry through her mother's line.
