Full-scale pictorial and biographical study of the American composer/lyricist; includes tributes from Irving Berlin and Carl Rowan, plus a listing of Mercer's published songs and motion picture contributions. 'First edition' (title page verso). Signed and inscribed by co-editor Ginger Mercer (the composer's widow) in black marker on front free endpaper: 'May '83 / Dear Grace / I hope you enjoy this -- / With much love, / 'Ginger' '.Over 100 b/w Illustrations (including Portrait photographs).
