[96](last blank), title page vignette plus numerous illustrations (many full page, several on a cream background); roy. 4to; beige cloth, spine and upper board lettered in dark brown, slightly soiled, edges of boards a trifle rubbed, bottom fore-corner of lower board bruised; dust wrapper, back flap price-clipped, slightly soiled, edges and backstrip lightly worn, with a couple of tiny splits or chips, two tape repairs on reverse of backstrip, the front panel slightly damp stained; inked gift inscription (dated 1935) on upper pastedown, outer leaves and edges lightly foxed; Collins, London, 1935. First edition. *Sketches of hunting, hog-hunting and pot-hunting in England, Ireland and India. 'Snaffles' was the pseudonym of British sporting artist Charlie Johnson Payne (1884-1967), who was described by The Field as 'one of the few really first-class horse artists'.
