London: John Murray 1888. 8vo. xxi, 458, 32 pp. Publisher's green cloth with gilt lettered spine. Minor marks to the boards. Slight bumping to the corners with rubbing to the extremities and spine ends. Wear to the front hinge with webbing exposed, otherwise binding firm. Internally clean with slight toning to the edges of the pages and some spotting to the foredge. Contains a folding diagram to page 91. 32 page publisher's list at rear dated Feburary 1888. 35th thousand of the sixth edition, with additions and corrections to the 1872 edition. The sixth edition was the last to receive revisions from Darwin himself. . Very Good. Publisher's Cloth. Sixth Edition. 1888.

Synopsis

Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species, published 24 November 1859, is a seminal work of scientific literature considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology. Its full title was On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. For the sixth edition of 1872, the short title was changed to The Origin of Species.

Courier services available. We are also able to offer same day delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote. Valuable items will be sent via registered airmail or one of the courier services. Large orders can be sent via consolidation, which reduces the cost per book. In the unlikely event of an incorrect description, a full refund will be provided, but please e-mail/telephone first, and within seven days of receipt of the book.
