A Paperback in Very good+ condition with a sound binding, part of the front cover has some indentations on the left hand side. The interior is bright & unmarked. The DJ is unclipped, some chipping along the top cover edges, light spine fading. "Parkman (1823-1893) laconically narrates his series of misadventures involving Indians, buffalo, and bad weather in this account of his long journey from St. Louis to the wild west and back, beginning in spring of 1846." ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 346 pages .

Synopsis

On April 28, 1846, Francis Parkman left Saint Louis on his first expedition west. The Oregon Trail documents his adventures in the wilderness, sheds light on America's westward expansion, and celebrates the American spirit.
