Ferguson II, 169. - Die bis dahin umfassendste lateinische Gesamtausgabe, die auch die chirurgischen Schriften, das apokryphe zehnte Buch der "Archidoxa" und das "Testamentum" enthält. Der erste Band mit den medizinischen Werken, in Band II die Schriften zur Alchemie, Astrologie, Kabbalistik, Magie etc. sowie Teil 3, der die Anatomie und Chirurgie behandelt. - Rücken und Gelenke waren brüchig/aufgeplatzt und wurden restauriert, Lederbezug teils abgeschabt, Ecken bestoßen, schmale Fehlstellen an den Kapitalen, wenige Wurmgänge. Das Frontispiz außen angerändert, mit ein paar Knickspuren. Innen streckenweise braunfleckig bzw. gebräunt, einige Anmerkungen in Tinte und Bleistift an den Rändern sowie ein paar Einträge von alter Hand auf dem Nachsatz von Band I. - Provenienz: Aus der Bibliothek des bekannten Astrologen John Partridge (1644-1715), siehe unten. - The most extensive Latin edition of the Opera Omnia at the time. Contemporary moiré calf, gilt stamped, with red spine labels. Brittle spine and joints were restored. Leather partially scraped, corners scuffed, slim faults at heads/tails, few worm traces. Frontispiece chipped at the margins, a bit creased. Browned and stained in parts, some notes on margins and on endpaper of vol. I. - Provenance: From the former library of John Partridge (Astrologer, 1644-1715) with his signature on the front fly leaf of vol. I (very similar to the one documented in catalogue 1495, p. 110 by Maggs Bros.). The same name written on the title by another old hand. The two volumes are listed in "Bibliotheca Partridgeana: A catalogue of the books contain'd in the library of the famous Dr. John Partridge deceas'd", p. 1, no. 12 (British Library: m90102211).
