Hardcover, brick red cloth boards with black and gilt design. Edges and corners show bumping and wear, cloth finish show spotting and soiling, spine is sunned page exterior is darkened. Binding is good and tight and pages are toned. First us edition thus with single date of 1874 appearing on the title and copyright page, though the title page does state "photographically reported and revised". Front pastedown contains two bookplates, one from E. R. Donehoo and the second from Geo. P. Donehoo. (George P. Donehoo, 1862-1934, was a noted Pennsylvania author, Dr. Elijah Ramsey Donehoo was his father). Only handwriting found in book is on the rear pastedown, upper left corner, where there's a small "2," written in pencil. A few scattered pages have small fractional edge chips and tears and minor foxing is present. Rear end page and pastedown shows a oil-like dark spot along the bottom edge.
