Small octavo (7 3/4 by 4 1/4 inches) 48 page stapled promotional booklet, written by the Publicity Department, South Pasadena Branch Security Trust & Savings Bank, bound in decorative stiff wrappers, illustrated with black and white vintage photographs of scenery, portraits, prominent buildings, and other historical images; plus descriptive text. Very good condition.
Rancho San Pasqual was deeded as part of a wedding gift in 1843. The first American settlers came in the 1850s. The city of South Pasadena was incorporated in the mid 1880s. "In 1885, the San Gabriel Valley Railroad supplanted the stage line that ran out from Los Angeles."
