NY: McLoughlin Bros., 1869. First Edition, First Printing; Linen like covers; lite foxing, and slight bit of edgewear; Fourteen pages within (counting inside covers) with eight full color (half-page) illustrations. The other pages have eleven lessons offering lists of letters and then words. The illustrated pages have text from the well-know verses beneath the illustration. The illustrations were produced by a relief process (zinc etching?); the pictures are signed by Edward P. Cogger and they were engraved from designs by Justin H. Howard. This is relatively early for linen.. 1st. Paperback. Very Good/No Jacket as Issued. Illus. by Color Illus. 12 vo; .5 Pound.
