Hardcover bound in black quarter cloth with yellow and black patterned paper-covered boards. Moderate rubbing and wear to the binding. Corners bumped. Inner hinges secure. Lacks the dust jacket, but the front flyleaf of the jacket is laid in loosely. The copyright dates is 1928 but the code on the copyright page of "A-E" denotes a January, 1930 printing. Stated twelfth printing on the copyright page. Written in rural "Negro dialect", even though Bradford was white. Bradford (1896-1948) was born in Tennessee and died in Louisiana.

Hardcover with a yellow and blue pictorial dust jacket, housed in an early plastic jacket protector. An ex-library copy with a pocket on the front flyleaf and with ink stamps on the title page. The jacket and protector is worn, and the jacket spine is toned. Inner hinges secured. Endpapers stained and foxed. The copyright dates is 1928 but the code on the copyright page of "B-I" denotes a January, 1934 printing. Written in rural "Negro dialect", even though Bradford was white. Bradford (1896-1948) was born in Tennessee and died in Louisiana.
