About This Item
Paris: A. Taride Editeur, 1920. Map. A very large folded map, no.10 of 32 plats, this devoted to Switzerland (Zurich area), folded and re-folded neatly so that it still fits into the publisher's 5x7 inch manila sleeve. The sleeve took the brunt of use and age; it is filthy with dust-soil (in places to the point of illegibility) and worn through at the bottom edge. The map is lovely, we peeked at one free corner; on thin tough semi-glazed paper with beautifully engraved presswork in four colors. There are short partings at several of the visible fold-lines, slight (hopefully) mis-foldings, we see nothing drastic and are afraid to probe deeply. Undated but a footnote to the text on the sleeve offers "Cartes suivre les Operations Militaires, De la Somme a la Mer" &c &c, ergo during or not long after the finish of WWI.
