Octavo (23.75cm.); original cream cloth, scarlet gilt-lettered morocco spine label, top edge gilt, others uncut; 360pp. Cloth a touch dust-soiled, spine a shade faded, else Very Good or better. Signed by the author on colophon. This novel of a Cockney drifter was adapted into a film in 1944 starring Cary Grant.
