New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1973. First Edition. First Edition. Association Copy, INSCRIBED on the half-title page by the author to noted writer and literary editor Gordon Lish: "To Gordon Lish / All best wishes / from Thomas McGuane / Key West / 1988." With Lish's business card laid in.

Basis for the 1975 film written and directed by McGuane, starring Peter Fonda, Warren Oates, and Margot Kidder.

During his tenure at Alfred A. Knopf, Gordon Lish served as an influential editor to many of the literary luminaries of the period, including Raymond Carver, Barry Hannah, Amy Hempel, Rick Bass, and Richard Ford.

Near Fine in a Near Fine dust jacket. Jacket lightly edgeworn on the spine ends and top edge of the rear panel.
