About This Item
London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1993. First edition, first printing. Published by Hodder and Stoughton in London, 1993. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper has some light 'general' wear and is so, (so) slightly toned at the spine. It has not been price clipped and shows the original £15.99 net price. The author's signature is boldly signed in blue ink on the full title page, dated 'June '93' (the year of publication). The boards are tight and the text blocks immaculate. Overall, this is a very near fine copy of a fine title. The author's first post-Cold War novel, detailing an undercover operation to bring down a major international arms dealer.
Synopsis
John Le Carre's psychological spy thrillers continue with the much-acclaimed The Night Manager. Jonathan Pine is a British ex-serviceman and the manager of a hotel in Switzerland. But his placid exterior hides his intention to bring down Roper, a man who is a millionaire philanthropist as well as the leader of a gun-running gang.
