First edition. 16mo. in oriignal marbled paper covered boards over leather spine stamped in gilt. 260 pp. plus 40 pp. appendix of "Popular Law Forms" and one page of "Corrections". though a tight copy, the leather of the binding is well rubbed, corners rounded, stain to the upper outer portion of the rear board. Ownership notation "Chas W. Roberts/ Salem New Jersey/ July 4th 1837" on second front blank. Heavily foxed throughout. Contains an almanac with engraved headers for each month; section of information of the federal goverment and history including Washington's Farewell Address, offices of the federal goverment and those offices and office holders in New Jersey, post offices and postmasters, Digest of Laws of the United Sattes, revenues and expenditures of 1835; presidentail election results; members of the 24th Congress. A chronological history of North America; constitution of New Jersey, court calendars, township populations and their voting for presidential electors, financials; colleges in the U.S.; religious denominations in the U.S.; geology of the State; manufactires of Newark, Paterson, and Trenton.
