The first English translation of this work, which looks at illustration in France at the start of the twentieth century. With many examples of the art. Written by Leon Pichon and translated into English by Herbert B Grimsditch. In the original cloth binding. The artists whose works are reproduced in this work include George Barbier, Georges Bruyer, Mauris Denis, Louis Jou, Joseph Hemard, Malo Renault and Paul Vera. With the bookplates of G Oliver Anderson and Lillian Marks to the front pastedown. A charming work, which looks at the development of this art form in France. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Spine has faded. Small loss to the cloth at the head of spine. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Minor offsetting to the endpapers. Occasional light spots to pages. Very Good
