Front hinge cracked, rear hinge starting. Text block split, but holding. Light tanning, otherwise internally clean. Good plus. "Contains an account of the Roosevelt's passage to Cape Sheriden, Ellesmere Island; the march on the ice of the Arctic Basin to 87°06' N. and return via the northwest coast of Greenland; a sledge journey along the northern coast of Ellesmere Island (Grant Land), and the return of the ship through Robeson Channel - Smith Sound" - Arctic Bibliography. Peary's penultimate expedition, which established another furthest northern point explored. The work also includes a history of the Peary Arctic Club, a description of its vessel, the S.S. Roosevelt, an account of polar Eskimo tribes, and a report on a previous expedition towards the North Pole undertaken from 1898 to 1902.
