Charles Lindsay Temple (1871-1929) was acting governor and, after the amalgamation in 1914, lieutenant-governor of Northern Nigeria. From the library of Sir Frederick William Cavendish-Bentinck, 8th Duke of Portland, with his book-plate. A very nice copy of the first edition. We have been selling antiquarian books on Africa, Oceania, archaeology, anthropology, travel and the ancient world for over forty years.
